Laotians, our tradition & culture encourage us to give whenever we can as demonstrate in alms giving or simply known as Tugbath. Every month there is big ceremony and festival at local temple known as Heed 12. In the southern part of Laos where there is at least one temple for every village therefore one big festival is guarantee every month.

This monthly event is known in Lao simply as Boun. Well, these big events usually happen around our village. I guess they must have taken turn to host. So what do we do during festive day? There are plenty to do and see: movie, lumleaung, morlum, live band, food, drink, people, monks, abbots, and of course beautiful women.

Here is a collection of Lums from one of Lao recogisable Morlum, Thongvone Kunnara. These are actually songs from her first album produced by Dr. Pao Saykeo from Melbourne Australia. Recorded at the Galaxy Studio in 1991, Sydney Australia. Music by Kit & The Galaxy Band.

This is a message from the producer. “Thank you very much for your support for this special girl who has developed an extra-ordinary talent. She has used her disability to make her dream come true”. Indeed after the released of her first album, she has escalated into stardom and toured within Australia, America, and Europe.

Thongvone wants to delicate this album to all the young Laotians around the World and it carries her special personal message. “What the mind can conceive you can achieve.” And “You need a vision not an eye to succeed”.

It seems a gifted singer Thongvone Khunnara has done a disappearing act for some times. Those who have short memories let us flash you back a few years.

Thongvone was so famous after the release of her third album. At parties, functions or concerts all you can hear was her songs. She toured France, America and did some concerts with LaoPress & Entertainment in Sydney, Australia.

LaoPress & Entertainment Group decided to re-release her third album. The entire songs in CD have been digitally re-mastered. The quality will be top class. Well, if you lost, damaged, or haven’t had a chance to get one this is your opportunity. This is red, red hot.

For those who wonder how she has been doing. We did have a chat with her recently. She has been doing great and some day she likes to record another album. She is still living in Sydney, Australia but has moved to bigger and better place. [song]
