INTERVIEW WITH GODFATHER
This is an excellent interview of Voradeth Dittavong conducted by Paxazinh Lao Monthly Magazine.Voradeth recorded his first hit song Mayuri after his return from France in 1970 after years of studies.His career spans more than forty years in entertainment business.When he lived in Laos he recorded, wrote, and produced more than twenty top hit songs.Many of his hit songs have been re-recorded by many new artists including those from neighbouring countries.
The biggest, most well known, Lao's very own godfather of Lao music is Mr Voradeth Dittavong. He toured Australia several years ago. Currently, he is earning his craft as one of the main DJs for Voice of America radio station.
He was once part of the most exciting chapter in Lao music pop history. He has released many great hit songs and many of them have been re-recorded by famous Lao & Thai artists.
He is still making great noises. This is one of them. It's Hugkaurbok Baur Hugkaurbok meaning Tell Me That You Love Me, Not.
During August 2001, Laotian in Australia have welcomed one of Lao pop pioneer. The biggest, most well known, we presented you Mr Voradeth Dittavong.
He toured Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. He also officially launched his brand new album called "Jenny you say" which translates in English meaning "Last night where were you?".
There are ten brand new songs in this album. All of the them are written by himself.
